I've mentioned in the past that old law school saying, "First year they scare you to death, second year they work you to death, and third year they bore you to death." I was not actually scared my first year--more disappointed, I guess--but my second year did just about kill me. Will the upcoming year be as dull as everyone says? Let's take a look at my schedule and see...
Other than Federal Taxation, which I'd prefer to avoid but feel I need to learn, I am very interested in all of my courses--it's especially important to me that I be competent as a family attorney, even though my plans to practice are limited largely to pro bono service. However, you'll notice that my two favorites--intellectual property and freedom of expression--don't appear here in any form. I will be taking Entertainment Law during my final semester, but other than that, freedom of expression and intellectual property are pretty much done with.
Which is a huge disappointment to me, but it forces me to reflect on the aforementioned saying. If I'm bored at all this year, I only have myself to blame. I ate all the dessert before dinnertime. d^_^b
Still, it should be an interesting semester. I'm taking a lot of brutal courses, and unlike the last three semesters, I don't have a class that I can point to and say, "I'll get the 4.0 in that one." It's been a nice cushion on my GPA to have paper-writing courses like Contemporary Legal Theory, Origins of the Constitution, and Law & Literature balancing out final exam classes like Business Associations and Evidence. Now I'm all out of "gimmes" so it's time to... well, insert your favorite work cliché here.
Summer ends in 18 days (Law Review training the week before classes start). Are you ready?

I'm not... d-_-b
